Making your own bath salts is a beneficial adventure that won't cost you a lot of time or money. You can customize your scents and add-ins to suit your physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional needs. Handmade bath salts also make simple, thoughtful gifts for your friends and family. Package them in any form or fashion that strikes your fancy: Perhaps a repurposed jar with a whimsical label, an apothecary bottle with a vintage label, or a wooden jar with a kraft label.
If you aren't one to take baths, no problem! Bath salts also make amazing foot soaks for busy, tired feet. Give yourself an at-home pedicure or just relax after a grueling day.
Your salts can be as varied as you want them to be. Kosher salt dissolves quickly in water. Flaked salt dissolves even faster. Himalayan sea salt looks gorgeous in a glass jar. Fleur de sel, a crystalline salt, dissolves more slowly.
Add fragrance and other add-ins to create the aroma you most enjoy: Citrus scents for energy; spicy scents to warm you up on a cold day; floral scents for a touch of romance; medicinal scents for colds, the flu, and seasonal allergies; or herbaceous scents for a more earthy or masculine note.
Bath salts can also be used as a base for bath bombs.
